GIVE A YEAR

“GIVE A YEAR AND PRAY ABOUT A LIFETIME.”

At The Outpost we believe in this statement.  Every year we send out students who have just graduated to live and work as missionaries overseas.

In 2012 the staff team at CSU felt a strong sense that God was leading them to pioneer a Chi Alpha not just in Colorado but overseas. After praying together, the nation of Russia became the clear location where a new Chi Alpha would begin. That Chi Alpha in Krasnodar, Russia became the first-ever Chi Alpha in the nation of Russia. Currently Chi Alpha is located in the historically rich and culturally significant St. Petersburg. Students have been giving a year to Russia every year since 2012.

WHY GIVE A YEAR?

Giving a year to missions allows you to invest enough time to make a real difference in a foreign country where you become conversant in a foreign language, learn the cultural nuances to be able to minister effectively, and be able to raise up disciples who will continue the work after you’ve returned home. If you’re thinking about or called to giving a lifetime to overseas missions the best way to start is with a year.

Where Should I Give a Year?

There are numerous opportunities all around the world where you can give a year, but with your unique experience and training through your collegiate career involved in The Outpost, you possess a unique skill-set which is best utilized in similar contexts in other countries.  The places we visit on short-term trips are selected specifically with this in mind. We highly recommend going to these places because the missionaries you will be serving were discipled in the same way as you were and often were former staff members right here at The Outpost, and you will be able to make disciples through small-group based discipleship just like you learned here at CSU.
